Please check you are a Member of the Association before you register to do our courses.
Please note, if your company has membership, you can send employees on our training courses under the company membership. You cannot send contractors under your membership. Anyone providing contracted services must become a member in their own right before undertaking training.
NZHHA Introduction to Solid Fuel Heating
NZHHA Introduction to Solid Fuel Heating training course for any new installers, retail sales staff and chimney sweeps wishing to become certified.
Registration forms are below.
Once you have completed the Introduction training, you must provide proof of Public Liability Insurance to the Association, and complete a log book given to each installer at the training. You cannot immediately proceed to SFAIT.
Solid Fuel Appliance Installation Technician(SFAIT) – has completed the necessary NZHHA courses and has proven experience in the installation of solid fuel burning appliances. Able to sign installations off as completed, subject to council approval..
Restricted Installer – has attended the NZHHA Introductory Course and is actively working in the industry. Cannot sign installations off as completed and is considered to be a trainee under the Association guidelines..
Chimney Sweeps and Cleaners – has attended the NZHHA Introductory Course and is actively working in the industry as a Chimney Sweep. Is able to advise on maintenance and repairs..
